Abstract:
Global engineering services market is worth $1.02 trillion in 2017. It is expected to grow by CAGR (Compound Annual Growth Rate) of 4% till 2022. Global IT spending is projected at $3.2 trillion in 2018; an increase of 6.2% from 2017. These two industries combined are worth to 6% to 7% of global economy. These figures indicate the importance of both engineering services and IT project management for organizational efficiency and profitability. This paper distinguishes between engineering managers in manufacturing and IT industries, describes managers in knowledge based industries, and Important areas of Project Management such as triple constraints and extended constraints.
